REEVES, JOHN T., FUHEID S. DAOIJD, AND MICHAEL GENTRY. Growth of the fetal calf and its arterial pressure, blood gases, and hematologic data. J. Appl. Physiol. 32(2): 240-244. 1972.-Fetal growth, arterial pressure, arterial oxygen tensions, and hematologic data in 35 fetal calves were compared with similar data in fetal lambs. The data of the present report suggested that the fetal calf, its organs, and placenta had rates of growth which were similar to those in the lamb. The increasing arterial pressure during the last third of gestation was similar to that in the lamb and the higher arterial pressure achieved by the mature calf appeared to reflect merely its larger size. The fetal calf had a relatively high arterial oxygen tension which suggested there may be an efficient transport of oxygen across the placenta. The hemoglobin concentration was lower than that in the lamb and did not change during the last third of gestation. Thus the differences in oxygen transport in the fetal calf and lamb may reside primarily in the arterial oxygen tensions and the blood oxygen carrying capacities.

Background and purpose : Arterial blood gases ( Arterial blood gas [ABG] ) One of the most important Laboratory tests to determine the status PH the amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide blood levels of bicarbonate. Also, hemoglobin and serum lactate and electrolytes and also won the Test . Height and air pressure can vary on ABG and its surface, low pressure conditions at high altitude pilots pl...

تأثیر فشردن قفسه سینه در زمان بازدم قبل از ساکشن داخل تراشه بر تبادل گازهای خون شریانی بیماران تحت تهویه مکانیکی

Background & Aim : Endotracheal suctioning is one of the most frequently used methods for airway clearance in patients under mechanical ventilation. Chest physiotherapy techniques such as expiratory rib cage compression before endotracheal suctioning can be used as a means to facilitate mobilizing and removing airway secretions and improving alveolar ventilation. This study was carried out to...

Investigating the Relationship Between End Tidal Carbon Dioxide and Arterial Carbon Dioxide Pressure in Patients With Respiratory Distress Referred to the Emergency Room of Hazrat Rasool Akram Hospital

Background: Measuring End-Tidal Carbon Dioxide (ETCO-2) can be a non-invasive, fast, and reliable method to predict partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2) in patients with respiratory distress. This method, which can be a suitable substitute to measure PaCO2, is being used in many emergency rooms and operating rooms in developed countries, but its exact relationship with PaCO2 has not been ...

Comparison of the Effects of Open and Closed Endotracheal Suction on Cardiovascular and Ventilation Parameters for Patients Undergoing Mechanical Ventilation

Background and Objectives: Suction is a necessary and common method which aids in the release of secretion from the respiratory system for the patients who have undergone mechanical ventilation. One of the most common complications of suction is hypoxemia which causes dysrhythmia and death. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of open and closed-endotracheal suction on cardiov...

I-46: Obstetrical Doppler

Accurate assessment of gestational age, fetal growth, and the detection of fetal and placental abnormalities are major benefits of sonography. Color Doppler can be used to assist in the identification of vascular architecture, detection of vascular pathology and visualization of blood flow changes associated with physiologic processes and disease states. The clinical applications of obstetrical...
